One of the finest Negro League photographs we have seen. Amazing image of Charleston and this historic Cuban team has crystal clear contrast. He is posed with teammates including Alejandro Oms in his rookie year, Bill Holland, Dave Brown, Julio Rojo, Champion Mesa, Oliver Marcelle, Dave Brown, and Bombin Pedroso. Fascinating side story to this team as Marcelle was there the night when Dave Brown killed a man in a barroom fight. Further fuel to this fire was that Brown himself once hit Charleston with a bat. Measures 6.5x4.25" and is EX. Charleston is wearing his Chicago American Giants sweater. Charleston is of course considered possibly the greatest player of any color to ever grace the diamond. The next season and with essentially the same club they became the Negro League team considered the greatest ever.
