When Rick Ankiel was in his prime, the pitcher was known for a wicked 97 mph fastball that could blaze by even the sharpest-eyed hitters in the MLB. In the latter half of 2003, however, Ankiel was forced to sit on the St. Louis Cardinals bench because of surgery he had had to fix a prior elbow injury. This jersey, from that benched season, was worn by Ankiel while traveling with his team. A gray button-down by Majestic, this item features the Cardinals logo sewn on front, with the number 66 sewn below on the left breast in black-outlined red numerals. On the reverse, the number 66 and "ANKIEL" are sewn in matching lettering and numbering. The jersey is in nice condition, and comes with an LOA.
