This 14K gold Balfour ring belonged to Los Angeles Laker executive and two-time Hall of Fame player and coach Bill Sharman. It is from Sharman's first year as team president, when the Lakers won the championship after beating the Celtics in the finals. There are a total of 13 diamonds on the top forming a diamond-filled basketball hoop (12 small diamonds) and basketball (one .5 carat diamond), around which reads, "LOS ANGELES LAKERS, WORLD CHAMPIONS." The left shank reads, "PURPLE REIGN” with the Lakers logo underneath it, and then "LA 4, BOS 2" as the Lakers won the series in 6 games. The right shank reads, "SHARMAN" with the NBA logo underneath it and the year split on either side of the logo as "19" and "85." Inside is stamped with "BALFOUR" and "14K." Consignor tells us that the ring has not been worn since purchase and has been kept in a safe since the July 4, 2004. Ring is size 9 ?; overall condition is 9.5.
