On September 7, 1892 at the Olympic Club in New Orleans World Heavyweight Champion John L. Sullivan defended his title against Gentleman Jim Corbett in the first gloved heavyweight championship. Corbett proved too fast for the aging Sullivan and stopped the champ in the 21st round to win the title. Offered here is a very fine example of a full ticket to this notable event. The ticket names both fighters and has a seat assignment. There is some minor foxing to the heavy stock ticket from age. Otherwise, excellent condition with no creasing, rips, tears or staining. One of the better examples we have seen.
