One of the rarest character dolls there is. The name of the doll is "Beatrize Rebelde" (Beatrice Rebel) and was put out circa 1959 to indoctrinate Cuban youngsters into the propaganda machine of the Revolution. Original side label with $1.69 price pictures Castro holding the doll, which looks amazingly like him. The doll itself has a fairly standard rubber body. She has long hair, and even though she is a girl, she has a Castro-like beard. She wears a green khaki uniform of the Revolution with bullet belt, gun & holster, starred cap, "26" of July St. Christopher's medal around neck and felt ribbon on sleeve to mark the beginning of the Revolution. Even has the original paper tag with her name. By C.I.D. Doll Company of Havana. Only one known. Box is EX and doll has a bit of wear on her hands o/w EX-MT.
