Easily the best piece we are offering here. Spectacular oil on board shows famed image of Rocky at top with strong influences from 1930's The Ring magazine covers. Base of the piece is staggering view of Marciano pummeling Walcott against the ropes while period shutterbugs pop away. The detail is just tremendous. Spectacular oil paintings were used for the cover of this, the preeminent Mexican boxing magazine of the last few decades: Ring Mundial. These one-of-a-kind paintings which are mostly oil-on-canvas (they were then mounted on artist's board), each measure about 20x15". They are in EX-MT condition and were obtained from the daughter of Valente Perez, the sportsman-entrepreneur-artist who published the magazine and also did these paintings!
