This one of a kind original ring was awarded posthumously to the 20th Century's greatest athlete Jim Thorpe in 1975 by the Track & Field Hall of Fame. It was accepted at the HOF, which was in West Virgina at the time, by Richard Thorpe on his father's behalf. Treasured by the family this ring has been worn proudly by Thorpe's son over the years as the ring's light wear attests. It is size 11.75 and made by Jostens in 10K Gold and stamped as such inside. The top reads "National Track & Field Hall of Fame USA" with a map of the US and a small diamond next to the "Winged Foot" logo. This is surrounded by eight engraved track & field glyphs. One side of the shank has the olive branch laurel with "Thorpe" engraved above it. The other side has the same laurel with "1975" engraved above. It comes with a Thorpe family letter of provenance.
