The Detroit Red Wings were unbeatable during the early Fifties with Sawchuk in net, Kelly on the blueline and Howe, Lindsay and Delvecchio up front. The Wings went all the way in 1955 capturing the Stanley Cup. Each team and staff member received a silver table set trophy to mark the momentous occasion. This heavy Sterling silver gravy boat (7") and matching platter (9") is stamped Heritage, 1847 Rogers Bros. with hallmarks. The tray is engraved "National Hockey League Champions and Stanley Cup Winners 1954-55, Detroit Hockey Club Inc., Fred A. Huber, Public Relations". The presentation of serving sets was the tradition at the time. The miniature Stanley Cups would not appear until a few years later. In near excellent condition.
