This 4 x 5” photograph of Phillies pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander was taken during a game against the Chicago Cubs. The image was taken in 1917 by George Grantham Bain, the founder of the first news photography service. The photograph is in VG/EX condition with 2 of the corners being torn (1/8” missing) but otherwise devoid of wrinkles and a very nice color quality which shows no evidence of age or fading.
