Carmen Basilio was born in Canastota, NY, now the home of the International Boxing Hall of Fame. This photo collection (57) from the SF Examiner archive consists of mostly 8" x 10" wire photos rating from VG to EX-MT with most in the EX range. Images date from the 1950's through the very early 1960's. They include a "Tale of the Tape" shot for Basilio's 1955 bout with DeMarco as well as a great weigh in photo with DeMarco. Other shots relate to his many bouts with such fighters as Johnny Saxton, Pete Mueller, Arley Seifer, Paul Pender and Sugar Ray Robinson among others.
