Peter Rozell was commissioner of the NFL from 1960-1989 and is widely credited with making the NFL into one of the most successful sports leagues in the world. Howard Cosell was the legendary sports broadcaster who transformed sports announcing by bringing an intellectual approach and analysis to television sports reporting very close to the kind of in-depth reporting one expected from "hard" news reporters.
