Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series baseball program book from the 1955 match-up. This is the Yankee Stadium version. It is unscored with only the starting lineup of players and a notation "second game" marked in pencil. Overall this piece is in EX condition with some scuff marks and slight corner nicks on the cover. It is 52 pages including cover and 8 3/4" x 11 3/4" in size. The two teams were meeting in a World Series for the fifth time in nine years, with the Yankees having won all four previous battles. However 1955 was to be the year that it all changed. The Yanks held home team advantage and won the first two in the Bronx. The Dodgers followed suit in Brooklyn winning the next three. The Yanks returned the favor in the Bronx forcing a game seven at Yankee Stadium which the Dodgers won 2-0 behind the pitching of Johnny Podres. This was to be the only championship the franchise would win in Brooklyn.
