No where else will you find such excellent news photo coverage of the classic Triple-A baseball teams of the Pacific Coast League. This massive (400+) photo collection comes from the archives of the San Francisco Examiner and is, in large part, the work of their talented staff photographers. You can't find these photos anywhere else. The vast majority of the images are date stamped pre-1960, with many of those dating even earlier- from the1920's to the 1940's. All the teams are represented: The Oakland Oaks, Hollywood Stars, San Francisco Seals, Seattle Rainiers, Los Angeles Angels, Portland Beavers and more. Images include game action, team photos and professional promo portraits with many gems to be found. Players include: Johnny Lindell, Dixie Howell, Ivan Howard, Pete Kilduff, Jim Scott, Johnny Verges, Joe Newkirk, Lefty O'Doul to name just a few. The quality of this large lot is outstanding. There are certainly some VG photos here but there are many vintage photos in amazing MT condition. Size ranges from 3x7" to 9x12" with many odd sizes in between thanks to the wonderful photo "art" done for the newspaper in the 1920's. Fantastic archive!
