HOFer Roy Campanella is the subject of this baseball news service wire photo collection. Known as Campy, he was an All-Star eight straight seasons from 1949 through 1956 and NL MVP in 1951, 1953 and 1955. Photos range from 7" x 5 1/2" through 8" x 10". Conditions range from EX to MT with many EX-MT. Campanella was critically injured and paralyzed after a 1958 car accident. There are several game action shots and many of him post accident in 1958, including a photo of Campy being pushed by Pee Wee Reese, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch to LA Dodger pitcher Johnny Podres to open the 1959 season.
