Remarkable collection of Abraham Lincoln photos (150+). Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United States, serving from March 4, 1861 until his death on April 15, 1865. He issued the emancipation proclamation in 1863 and promoted the passage of the thirteenth amendment prohibiting slavery. Photos range in size from 3” x 6” to 8 1/2” x 13”. They are in a range of conditions from FR-MT with many showing newspaper edit markings. Collection includes a wide diversity of photos including many of his wife, Mary Todd, and of the rest of his family including his son Robert T. Lincoln, who was his only child of 4 to survive into adulthood. One rare photo, taken in Chicago in 1858, was found by a retired Ohio fireman in 1947. It is a beardless portrait of Lincoln. There are also many photos of written speeches and documents Lincoln wrote and made famous. This is an exceptional collection of photo americana.
