Oscar "Battling" Nelson was the lightweight champion of the world on two separate occasions in the early 1900's. This original photo, by Dana Studio, San Francisco, and blind embossed with their logo, is 6 1/2" x 4 1/4". It is in NRMT condition with a few corner blemishes transferred over and visible from the original glass negative. Nelson fought 135 fights, won 73 including 40 by KO, lost 30 and fought 24 draws. He died in poverty in 1954. In 1992 he was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
