S.F. Giants Willie Mays and N.Y. Mets manager Casey Stengel are together in this 1963 photo during ceremonies at the Giants' former home and Mets current home (until Shea opened in 1964) the Polo Grounds. This was the last year of the Polo Grounds existence as two 30 story buildings now stand on the hallowed grounds. Photo is 8" x 10" and in EX-NRMT condition with only a visible crease in the lower left corner slightly detracting from an otherwise NRMT photo. It was Willie Mays Night with 45,000 attending the pre-game ceremonies for Mays who still had a huge legacy New York following from the days when he and the Giants played at the Polo Grounds.
