Great LSU halfback and 1959 Heisman trophy winner, Billy Cannon, is the subject of this interesting collection of (23) wire photos. Images include: A smiling Cannon having just received the Heisman trophy from then VP Richard Nixon; in 1953 as a 17 year old groom with his child bride; signing his NFL contract with the Oilers in 1962. Plenty of game action images and classic on-field "posed" photos. Sized from 4x8 to 8x10". Majority of photos are front caption wire photos, but a few, from Cannon's days with the Raiders, are SF Examiner staff photos and many have original news clippings affixed to verso. Condition ranges from VG to MT with many in the better end of the spectrum.
