Helene Madison, 1932 Olympic swimming champion, is the subject of this collection of original photos (15). She won 3 gold medals at the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The collection spans her swimming career and life from age 16, as a young swimming star, through age 53 as a head nurse in a convalescent center in Seattle. She died at age 57. Photos include her with olympic teammates Katherine Rawls and Margaret Hoffman. Also a shot of her with 1920 Olympic champion Charles Paddock.
