Compelling collection of (100+) oversized news photographs from the archives of the San Francisco Examiner. The images date from the 1930's to the 1990's, with the vast majority pre 1960's. They are primarily the product of the Examiner's talented staff photographers. Images include: Incredible 1940's photos of US Navy dirigibles; graphic shots of a 1960 NYC airline disaster; Jerry Rubin costumed in protest of the Vietnam War; Orville Wright in the 1940's; Sammy Davis Jr. in Porgy and Bess; Saudi Royalty in 1940's. Also, fine images of life & crime in and around the San Francisco Bay Area including: the Tokyo Rose case; a motorcycle cop; a shrunken head and more. Images measure 10 x 12" to 12 x 17" and range in condition from VG to NM+.
