Official Batting Order Line-up card from Stengel's last game as manager, July 24,1965. The Mets played the Phillies that night and writer Jack Lang was in attendance. After the game, there was a party at Toots Shor's restaurant and Stengel fell and broke his hip on a wet floor. He would never manage again. The next day while Lang was in the managers office, he noticed this line-up card sitting on the desk and, realizing the possible significance, asked the interim manager Wes Westrum if he could have it. It is too bad that more people didn't have this kind of foresite! The card is filled out in Stengel's hand and signed at the bottom.
