A steady, two-way player, Wayne Merrick was the complete package in hockey. Adept in all areas of the ice, Merrick’s swift skating, determined defense, good playmaking skills, a deft shot, and a slightly conservative defensive streak allowed him to play 12 successful seasons in the NHL with the Blues, Golden Seals, Barons, from his final year in Cleveland, 1977-78. Red, road jersey has the traditional Rawlings size 50 tag in the back neck. Beautiful embroidered crest with twill material backing. Pilling evident from the outside and present on the inside behind both top corners of the crest. Two repairs are present on the back of the right sleeve along with yellow paint transfers and a couple board burns. More yellow paint transfers on the upper right arm and the right shoulder number. A few nice board buws scattered throughout the hem areas. Name on back sewn in white on a red twill nameplate with light bleeding of the red color into the white letters. Small loop style fight strap with leather attachment in the lower back.
