Only 21 jockeys have ever reached the sterling plateau of 5000 wins and the great Johnny Longden was the first. This sterling silver trophy cup, originally the Grand National Steeple Chase 1841 Challenge Cup, was engraved and presented to Longden in commemoration of the momentous occasion. It is engraved, "John Longden 5000th Winner at Santa Anita Park, Feb. 28, 1957." At 16" tall, this gorgeous trophy has thoroughbred torsos as side handles and a mare with her foal on top. Images of horses and riders are along the sides and botanically-themed embellishments decorate the base and lid. A mint 7x7 photograph of Longden receiving this very trophy adds wonderful perspective to this special piece of racing history.
