When Jack Dempsey and Georges Carpentier fought for the World
Heavyweight Title under the promotion of Tex Rickard, a stadium was
created at Boyle’s Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey especially for the
event. The electrician who completed most of the work for the stadium
accepted, as partial payment for his work, the bell used ringside for the fight. That ring bell is offered here. It has been mounted with a copy of the fight program cover and an original photograph of the fighters in the ring taken shortly before the fight commenced. One of the great fight bells to have survived from this era and a true piece of ring history. Excellent condition and in working order.
