On June 13, 1935 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl, Max Baer defended his title against aging James J. Braddock in what was considered by most experts to be a tune up-fight for Baer. Braddock would hear none of it and pulled off the big upset winning a unanimous 15 round decision and the title. Offered here is a very rare on site standee poster for the event. This die-cut style poster pictures both fighters in a ring above the ticket price information. The die-cut poster is cardboard measuring 12" x 12." Some minor edge chipping, light soiling and a few small creases. Maintains strong color. The only on site poster we have ever seen from this important fight.
