On March 27, 1942 at Madison Square Garden in New York World Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis successfully defended his title stopping Abe Simon in the sixth round. It was a one sided fight with Louis knocking Simon down in the 2nd and 5th before putting him away. Featured here is an extremely rare on site poster to this event. This three sheet (40” x 80”) paper poster has been professionally linen backed for preservation. Some original folds are still evident. Very clean with wonderful images of the fighters. The only example we have seen in this size.
