This lot gives us a great behind the scenes perspective on one of the ways in which Dr. Naismith deservedly made money from his invention. A series of five documents concerning Naismith’s licensing agreements with Rawlings: 1) 1928 letter to Naismith from Rawlings concerning contract for official basketballs baring Naismith's signature and a new “concealed lace” basketball. 2) 1936 letter from Rawlings concerning basketball scorebooks 3) 1936 unsigned contract for "Exclusive License To Use The Name "Naismith" Or "James Naismith" As Applied To Certain Articles." 4-5) 1941-42 royalty statements to the Naismith family. Average condition is EX.
