On July 4, 1910 in Reno, Nevada, World Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson defended his title against aging Jim Jeffries. Jeffries came out of retirement to try and wrest the title from Johnson in one of the most celebrated events of the early 20th century. It was not to be. Johnson dominated the fight and stopped Jeffries in the 15th round. Presented here is a full, unused ticket from the event. Both fighters are pictured on the ticket along with Jack Gleason and Tex Rickard. In VG-EX condition. The stubs are firmly attached. There are two minor stains on the front and some minor back damage, likely from the ticket being
glued down and removed.
