364 days after losing his Heavyweight title to Gene Tunney, Jack Dempsey reentered the ring in an attempt to reclaim it. What would ensue was the controversial bout known as “The Long Count Fight.” That epic sporting event is the subject of this Beechnut Sign. An amazing panorama of the stadium under a deep blue sky with all the viewers’ heads focused on the fighters. “Scrap of the century” is written in the night sky. The sign measures about 60” across and looks spectacular. There is a bit of cardboard exposed on the crease of the left panel. One of the nicer specimens extant.
