Measuring 33 1/2x13 3/4”, this immaculate baseball poster was originally released in 1895. Made by the Calvert Litho Company of Detroit, Michigan, the linen-backed poster depicts a batter at the plate with a catcher and umpire behind him. “24192” is written near the bottom and there is some creasing. At the top, the right corner has some paper loss and a small tear near the word “Sheet” that could be easily restored. This is a beautiful litho, numbered #283 is a marvelous study of the art of the game. It was likely meant for advertising purposes.
