A winner of 11 Stanley Cup Championships, the most as a player in NHL history, "Pocket Rocket" Henri Richard won the fourth of his record-setting five consecutive championships in 1958-59. A 20-year NHL career that proved Henri Richard was a capable NHL player despite his small stature, RIchard was enshrined into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979. Amassing over 1,000 points in his successful career, Richard wore this vibrant red wool sweater on his way to setting that remarkable record during the 1958-59 campaign. Proudly displaying the number 16 on the sleeves and across the back, this jersey is a true legend. Preserved in immaculate condition, this jersey features two repairs on the upper back left shoulder area. There is also one repair on the left sleeve in the blue stripe. Six repairs are scattered across the front which includetwo in the upper left chest area, one in the blue midsection stripe, two in the lower red body portion and one in the lower red hem area. The right sleeve features six more repairs. On the back we find six addtional repairs near the lower body striping and hem area. Les Habitants crest is preserved in perfect condition with no damage or fraying. The back numbers show use from sweat stains and stretching from game use, but do not detract from the appeal of the sweater at all. Excellent interior pilling inside the cuffs and elbow areas and "L.J. Parent & Fils, Ltée - Montreal" tagging in lower back left hem provide the finishing touches on this outstanding piece. A truly outstanding wool jersey from a celebrated era in the history of the bleu, blanc and rouge.
