What a wonderful style! William "Flash" Hollet claimed the historic number "2" soon after the retirement of Bruins legend Eddie Shore in 1939-40. Flash and his teammates would emerge triumphant the following season as the 1940-41 Stanley Cup Champions wearing uniforms identical to this one, according to celebration photos. This style, with gold numbers and letters, was first used in 1939-40. The sweater is in a heavy cream wool with gold and black shoulder striping. The numbers are gorgeous, fashioned in a satiny gold knit and framed in regimental back braid. The immortal number "2" is featured on the front and back with a "B" on each sleeve. It is tagged in the inside back tail "Horace Partridge" with a size "44" flag tag. There are numerous team repairs, vintage stick marks and excellent overall wear inside and out. Still in beautiful condition and a wonderful reminder of the great blueliner Eddie Shore.
