Going straight from high school to the NHL is a monumental task for an
18-year old. Tom Barrasso proved he was up to the task by winning the Calder
Memorial Trophy (NHL Rookie of the Year), the Vezina Trophy (NHL¹s Best
Goaltender) and being named to the NHL First All-Star Team with the Buffalo
Sabres in 1983-84. After joining the Pittsburgh Penguins in November, 1988,
Barrasso led the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 1991
and 1992 respectively. While winding down his stint with the Penguins,
Barrasso wore this Pro Player Home White jersey during the 1999-2000 NHL
season. Tagged with size G58 and Pro Player Authentic/Made in Canada
labeling in the neck, this jersey is accentuated with the NHL 2000 patch on
the right chest. Light wear overall including light pilling and
several black puck/stick marks on the front. A truly nice piece from the
first American-born goaltender to achieve 300 wins in the NHL - a career definitely worthy of a look from the Hall of Fame.
