A solid outfielder, Brooklyn native Sid Gordon became one of the most popular players in New York in his time. This 1942 gray flannel NY Giants road jersey is one of Gordon's earliest (he debuted with the Giants in 1941). "New York" is stitched on the front and the player number "1" is stitched on the back, both done in blue on red felt. Top-to-bottom red and blue piping on the front follows a path around the collar and is also present on the sleeves. Zipper front, "42, "44" and "1" embroidered in red on the front left tail indicating the year, size and set, respectively. "Gold Smith" manufacturer's tag sewn into the collar, jersey appears to be all-original with no alterations, shows great use with noticeable perspiration toning.
