One of Merkin's best in crayon on artist's paper. It shows a
young Walt Disney in his salad days in Kansas City going from agency to
agency lugging his dreams in the form of a snuggling Mickey and Minnie
under his arm. Marvelous fantasy piece shows Felix the Cat touting his
greatness while Harriman's Ignatz Mouse marks the derivation of that
character to early Mickey. Superb color, artist signed and supremely
impressive. Work itself is 38x29", beautifully museum framing by Merkin
himself. Richard Merkin is an important American artist whose work can be
seen in Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and other important publications.
