A green piece of history is this Oakland A’s 1972 World Series combo cap and jersey, game-used by the understated heroic catcher Gene Tenace, who slammed 4 homers in that series to help his A’s win the first of three consecutive WS titles! This solid green jersey debuted that year, and here it carries its age pretty well, with its yellow and (somewhat dirtied) white tackle twill “38” on front and back, and front “A’s” like-styled, and back Tenace single-stitched on upper back. Inside front tail has “1972” tag, “McAuliffe” manufacturer’s tag, and size 42 tag. Cap’s yellow bill is dirtied, and embroidered “A’s” is as well, while under bill has black-markered “38”. Inside back has nicely aged “New Era” tag, and a nearly disintegrated, unreadable size flag tag. Comes with LOA.
