Fabulous game-used mitt representing two of the greatest lefthanders in Yankees history. Sequentially, the glove was initially used by Guidry, and then presented to Hall of Famer Whitey Ford, who then used it in his duties as Yankees pitching coach and spring-training instructor. A notable and reasonable exchange given that Guidry consistently credited mentor Ford with turning his career around and as the most influential factor behind his incredible 1978 comeback year. Ford then gave the glove to Yankees scout Gus Poulos, (who signed Mattingly). This professional model Wilson A2002 glove displays tremendous use, but no abuse, and features Guidry's number "49" on the thumb in faded black marker, with "Ford" and "16" more freshly marked above it. Significant on a number of levels, it likely saw action in Guidry's legendary 25-3 season, and is accompanied by a nice LOA from Poulos.
