The only specimen known of this magnificent Victorian advertisement in heavy cardboard. Unusual "sprite" graphics shows a footballer charging through a field carrying the Bull Durham logo like a football with period players in pursuit. One is wearing interesting nose guard on his face. Mark at bottom, "Copyrighted 1894 by the H.A. Thomas and Wylie Lith. Co. NY." Advertising is for Bull Durham smoking tobacco. Repair to bottom right corner o/w EX. Colors are absolutely brilliant. Sign is 11x14”; antique frame is overall 17x21". At top is brass ringlet.
