Tucked into its sharp Art Deco gray folder is this very handsome high school portrait of Bruce Smith, obtained straight from the College Hall of Famer's family. He would go on to win the Heisman trophy in 1941 after his University of Minnesota Gophers collected their second consecutive national championship, where he excelled as a half back. At the time of this photo, Smith was already being molded at Minnesota’s Wausau High School by legendary football coach, Win Brockmeyer. Matted in folder, photograph itself measures 5.5x8”.
