Awesome works of art from Lefty O’Doul’s famous restaurant in downtown San Francisco. These four oil-on-masonite paintings are of a cubist style which belies their 1950s vintage. They are artist signed "Dusso" who is in fact Leo Dusso (D'usseau) an American artist who worked in Los Angeles and studied with Archipenko.
There are two pairs here. The first is a basketballer and a boxer. The paintings themselves measure 38x20". The second are two baseball players, a pitcher and a batter. They are each 40x30". The original "Lefty O' Doul's" frames are still on all but the basketballer which are 100% original and of the period. Overall EX, but would look amazing with a good cleaning.
