A stunning gathering of autographs (11) of standouts from the Negro Leagues, and, with most appearing on 3x5” sheets of white paper, a bright, bold showing, especially the 10/10 inking of recent Hall of Famer Effa Manley, who co-owned the Negro League’s Newark Eagles from 1936 to 1948, and with grace combined great baseball with social awareness. Others include Chet Brewer, Willie Mays (personalized on hotel stationary), Jake Stevens, Quincy Trouppe with W. McDonald together on one sheet, Buck O'Neil, Judy Johnson, Monte Irvin, Clint Thomas, and Gene Benson. All signatures obtained in person at Negro League reunions, and each instilled with history.
