Ultimately a failure (only three completed seasons, 1983-85), the United States Football League forced the NFL to grow, stimulated interest in pro-football in regions of the U.S. previously dormant, and most appealingly had marquee players who would later make substantial showings in the NFL. Among these five standard USFL player’s contracts, the standout is that of left-handed quarterback Steve Young, Hall of Famer from the San Francisco 49ers, who won the NFL MVP in ’92 and ’94, as well MVP for the 1995 Super Bowl, in which the 49ers won their 5th Super Bowl Championship, sharing the record with the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers. His contract (1984) is with the LA Express, and is signed by him, and though both have water damage, the contract is VG, while signature is 6/10. The other 4 contracts include signatures of the player being signed: Maurice Carthon with the New Jersey Generals (’83), Tony Fritsch with Houston Generals (’84), Steve Bratkowski with the Birmingham Stallions (‘82), and Rick Neuheisel with the Arizona Outlaws (’86).
