Attractive portrait of the Big Train captures the HOF hurler in attire more formal than most of our memories recall. Taken at the famed Bachrach Studios in Boston, the oldest photography outfit in America still in existence today. Their impressive resume includes some of the most recognizable images in our history including that of Abe Lincoln during the Gettysburg Address. Complimented nicely by Johnson's fountain pen inscription, "Best Wishes Walter Johnson" which demonstrated perfect form and fluidity. Less than optimal contrast and lightened ink, though, lower the grade of his mark to 4/10. The Near Mint photo is matted and framed 15x18".
