The legendary Bobby Jones remains the only person to win the four major golf championships in one year, and also won thirteen major titles from 1923 to 1930. His physical grace and fluid swing dominated the sport until his retirement at age 28. This typewritten 1961 letter, under the letterhead of Jones' law firm, was addressed to the celebrated sports writer Hal Lebovitz. The noted early golfer Mac Smith is mentioned in the text, and the letter has been signed twice by Jones, who has also inscribed a short note. The buff 8 1/2" x 11" letter has two horizontal creases from folding, but condition otherwise is EX. Signatures are in blue ink and rate an 8/10.
