Offered is a rare Brooklyn Dodgers jacket (circa 1947) owned and worn sparsely by Burt Shotton during his time as manager of players like Robinson, Snider, and Reese. Just as his stylish and business-like predecessors, such as Connie Mack did, Shotton could often be seen before, and at times during, the game in more formal attire making this garment a rare find indeed. The blue satin outer shell has "Dodgers" sewn across the front and a grey fleece inner lining. The pocket ends are trimmed in black leather. Made by Wilson with appropriate tagging in the collar and chain-stitched with "Shotton" on the jacket's inner facing above the hem. The tab on the zipper has come off but is contained in the one pocket. Nice use but fine condition. Ex Barry Halper Collection with auction tag still attached.
