Deliciously colorful, vintage advertisement for Grape Nuts cereal that literally designs itself around the pitching form of Hall of Fame St. Louis Cardinal, pitching phenom and folk hero of the 1930’s, Dizzy Dean. In red and white, Dean’s dynamic figure dips down just after a blazing pitch has been thrown, and above the green diamond-shaped background, a bold blue flag waves, “For Energy.. Eat Grape=Nuts.” This is a glorious find. Over 10 years ago there was a small find (about 8) of these signs. They were being used as insulation in the attic of an old house. Therefore, most of them had condition problems. This was hand-picked as the best of the group and grades EX-MT+. Before this find, these signs were not known to exist. This rare advert has a lot going for it - large, colorful, great condition, die-cut, and illustrates Hall of Fame great, Dizzy Dean. Easel on the back is unused. Framed, measures 30x43”.
