With generational shock waves too deep to be truly measured, these three photographs capture, as best could be, the moments just after knowledge of John F. Kennedy’s assassination hit the streets on November 22, 1963. Not only ominous in their sight unseen subject matter - horrified and pensive looks from everyday citizens gaze off into a collective distance (which actually was a Channel 7 TV news report), these photos also call to mind the recent amassed American tragedy of 9/11, where onlookers stand, terrified and shaken, at a sight above and beyond comprehension. Each measuring roughly 12 x 8”, these are powerful works.
