Vintage baseball glove, fantastically game worn by the legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander. This wonderful relic dates to Cleveland's tenure with the Phillies (1911-1917), and features "Reach" cloth label and brass button. A detailed letter of authenticity from the current owner states that his uncle Adolf Fischl received the glove as a gift from Alexander, who he personally knew, during Alexander's tour with the Cardinals (1926-29). The glove is in absolutely original condition, showing the signs of seasons-of-use. The leather is parted along a seam at the base of the thumb, and evidence of an earlier home-made repair will be found along a seam on the outside of the thumb. Vintage ID card which reads: "Glove Used By Grover Alexander While Playing With St. Louis Cardinals" justs adds to the realness of this relic. So authentic and absolutely amazing!
