“Like the Babe himself, it’s a home-run king!” So says Joe DiMaggio, in the included ad for this timeless Babe Ruth wrist watch. Comes in all-original box (claiming, with a blue and white picture of the home-run slugger on the side, that it is an official Babe watch), though top of box is no longer connected, but included. Stainless steel watch, stuck at 11:55:31, is presented inside a “regulation” plastic baseball. The face of watch has medium shot illustration, inside of baseball diamond, of Mr. Ruth with three bats sitting upon his shoulder. Also included are “instructions and guarantee", and “with each watch goes a Sportsman’s Pledge Card, bearing Babe Ruth’s own signature”, and this Pledge card, still intact (un-perforated) on original business reply card, states “I have always tried to be a good sport, to play the game fairly and squarely… ". How many ballplayers today could use this Pledge card as a reminder of what the game has always been about - sportsmanship? Condition of the collection is NRMT or better
