In 1961, the American League All-Stars had two chances to win, on account that they played two All-Star games that summer, one at Candlestick and one at Fenway Park. Unfortunately, they lost the first game, and tied the second (called after 9 innings because of rain), but the star power still glowed as is evident by the signatures present on this beautiful ball, owned by Chicago White Sox second baseman Nellie Fox, and coming directly from the family of the Hall of Famer. His personal ball from the game, marked with "1961 A.S." in his hand. He signs “Nelson Fox,” along with the stellar likes of Mickey Mantle (sweet spot), Roger Maris, Hoyt Wilhelm, Norm Cash, Brooks Robinson, Rocky Colavito, Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, Whitey Ford, Al Kaline, Jim Bunning, Harmon Killibrew, and the others. Official American League (Cronin) ball is EX while signatures average 7-8/10. LOA.
